Why UAO CEU?

1. Preparation for doctorates

The Official Master's Degree in Public Law is an official advanced course focused on giving students specific knowledge of the key elements of Public Law and preparing them for future access to a doctoral programme in Law.

The master's provides all the methodological training needed for rigorous research. This makes it the ideal academic training ground to develop and defend a thesis in legal education.

2. Experience

Abat Oliba CEU University began its law courses in 1973, making it the first private school (later becoming a university) to train lawyers in Catalonia.

The institution's long history, the academic accreditation of its professors and the professional experience of its range of collaborators guarantee educational quality.

3. Methodology

The master's is taught through a system combining four simultaneous methodologies:
- Lectures
- Seminars based on real case studies
- Practical workshops
- Master's dissertation with a tutor

The master's is taught following a blended-learning format with online sessions, allowing international students to attend classes in real time by logging onto the University's Online Campus. The lecturers' extensive experience and our high-quality IT infrastructure ensure active participation, with lively debates around the key topics covered.

Students that are able will defend their dissertation in person in Barcelona as part of a 5-day trip, with visits to the most important legal institutions in the city, along with other activities related to the legal world.

4. Format

The Master's is taught in a blended-learning format. The design and organisation of the course was specifically chosen to make it fully compatible with a job in the legal profession, whether for judges, lawyers, notaries, registrars, tax inspectors, barristers, court clerks for public authorities, etc.

5. Teaching staff

Our teaching staff comprises academics, lawyers, magistrates and other figures from the legal world selected based on their doctorate-level education, career, prestige and educational skills.

6. Information resources

The Library Service was created to support study and research with the aim of meeting all educational and scientific demands. It has extensive opening hours, including weekends, and is equipped with the latest technology.

UAO CEU also gives the university community a digital repository containing open-access publications including teaching materials, faculty and institutional research and work by students and alumni of the University.
