Why study at UAO CEU?

1. Prepare to study a doctorate

The aim of the Official Master's in Humanistic and Social Studies at Abat Oliba CEU University is for students to acquire advanced, cross-disciplinary training that prepares them to undertake research in the field of humanities and the social sciences.

The subjects that make up this Official Master’s Degree in Humanistic and Social Studies are designed to provide the student with an in-depth, precise and open vision of the great philosophical and cultural problems as seen through classical thought, particularly that of Saint Thomas Aquinas.

2. Methodology

The teaching approach is particularly focused on training students in terms of research, fostering an autonomous, creative reflection that moves them to ask and ponder on the prevalent questions in each field.

The three main pillars underlying the master’s are: familiarity with the bibliography and sources in general; the ability to diagnose the current state of affairs; and the ability to argue rationally in favour of a given position.

You will also enjoy personalised tutoring with an eye to later producing your doctoral thesis.

3. Teaching staff

The teaching staff comprises professors and researchers chosen for their recognised prestige and specialisation in the field.

4. Modality

This master’s degree uses blended learning, and offers the possibility of following lectures in person or, eventually, through video-conferencing.

5. Information resources
